Music video image montage

For this task i chose to do the music video for So Far Away by Avenged Sevenfold.
I started off by print screening parts of the video which i could later merge together to create a montage. Out of all the screenshots i had taken, i picked six that i felt would work well together and sort of tell the story behind the video.
I opened each screenshot up on photoshop in individual layers and placed them where i felt they'd work. Then i used the eraser tool with the hardness set at 0 to merge the images together.
If i had more time, i would use tools like the posterise and use highlights of colour.

Photoshop pop art themed images

This task was to use photoshop to create a pop art piece in the style of Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. These include using halftone tools to create a dotted effect.
The tools i used most in these pieces were; the posterize, curves, greyscale, bitmap and gradient tool.
The colours were adjusted using the layers to allow the opacity of the image layers.

Photo Montage

Our task was to create a photo montage using photoshop.
Firstly i found five images which i was going to use and opened them up in photoshop one at a time and positioned them where i wanted them. Using the eraser tool, i adjusted the softness and the size and erased around the desired part of each layer. Erasing part of the photo revealed the image on the next layer.
I kept a general theme of Bristol's harbour side, using different images of different parts of of the docks.

Photoshop

I used layers to create images with objects objects being highlighted with colour. To do this i used two layers to switch between the colour and greyscale.
Firstly I opened my chosen image in photoshop and duplicated the layer and adjusted the saturation with the 'desaturate' option. Then using the eraser tool, i erased the part of the image i wanted to be in colour.

This task was to create an image using silhouettes of a landscape and object.
I chose to do a cliff diver and used gradients to colour the water and the sky.
The tool which i used most in the process of making this piece was the magic want tool, this selected the outline of similarly coloured shapes.

Creating a stencil using Photoshop

To start off the process i chose an image of an urban environment and a piece of art from the internet which i would then merge together. The image of the artwork was edited to look like a stencil, for this i adjusted the threshold level and used the pallet knife to manipulate the stroke size. Using the move tool, i inserted the stencil onto my background. To add the effect of the train going in front of the artwork, i made a copy of the train and inserted it into a new layer. I used the transform tools and the multiply tool on the artwork's layer to position it and help it blend into the background.

Cathedral sketch

Firstly we scanned one of our pieces of which we've done so far in the urban art topic. We started off the photo editing process by opening up the scanned image in photoshop and adjusted the contrast to a decent level. We cropped the image to 15 cms by 10cms  with a resolution of 300. With a copy of the original image we inverted the colours.
